Hi all, my name is Mariella Gallagher! I graduated from Montclair State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Foundations for Elementary Teachers and NJ CEAS (K-6 certification). Additionally, I recently completed my M.Ed with an ESL Endorsement from Monmouth University.  I have been working in the Tinton Falls School District for three years and am excited to continue my career here! 

This upcoming 2026-27 school year, I will be teaching third grade at Swimming River School. I am looking forward to another wonderful school year and am always happy to help!

Teaching is truly a work of heart.  Pursuing a career in education, I aim to provide all my students with an accessible and equitable education. As a first-generation college student, I grew up with parents who always emphasized the value of education. Knowledge is power, and power gives us the courage to seize opportunities and be the change we wish to see in the world. I have had several powerful and passionate teachers who advocated for me and made sure my voice was heard. Therefore, I intend to implement culturally responsive pedagogy that respects and represents all my future students. Regardless of their race, religion, gender, or ability, I will ensure that their academic and social needs are met.
