Encaustic painting is an ancient technique that combines heated beeswax and damar resin (tree sap) with color pigment. The term comes from the Greek enkaustikos, meaning "to burn in" or "to engrave by fire."
Applied to a rigid surface such as wood and fused with heat using a torch or heat gun, the medium produces luminous, textured layers. This fusing process bonds each layer to the next, resulting in a durable, enamel-like finish that enhances both the richness and longevity of the work.
