In class for this semester I would say that I was present and in class about 70 percent. In class I try my best to divert my attention to the lessons and to whoever is presenting and I am always doing my work and involved in the discussions of the topic and always trying to work with my table group on the labs. In general during the week I spend about 3-4 hours in the class, working on my eportfolio as well as reading/ watching the lectures on the materials posted. During the semester I didn't really reach out as much as I wanted too, although I had questions I always just asked my table group for answers or in some special and rare occasions where I would ask the professor some questions regarding the eportfolio when I had the chance. My participation in this class affected my knowledge and growth in this class by making it hard when I missed labs and didn't ask questions to clarify what I had confusion on and I wish I had been more vocal with the problems I was having and properly communicated why I was doing poorly in the labs.
A majority of the practice work given and assigned to me have gotten a completion check mark, although I've had about 4-5 of the practice work given back to me for some of the questions that I marked wrongly or poorly answered. There was one practice work that had completely gone over my head and I did not complete it. Mostly all of my assignments/practice work assigned to me have been turned in on the day it was assigned or a week to when it was due, they were all on time. I think that I could have done better by putting more effort to ensure that my answers were right before turning it in, but the feedback that I had got back from the professor really helps with steering me to the direction of getting the right answer.
As soon as the assignment was assigned I had my ePortfolio up and ready to go and I sent over the URL to my ePortfolio posted on the page of my Canvas and sent to the professor. About half of the assigned objectives for the ePortfolio, I have received feedback on from my classmates. Within the last few weeks of the semester I finished the remainder of the objectives I had to do although I did forget to click publish and update the link thats in my canvas page. I believe that from the answers above the quality of my ePortfolio is about an 85% (B) I think I could have spent more time to find more materials and more lab work related to the subject matter.
During my time in this course what I am most proud of is creating friendships within this class. They have helped me with completing work and have gotten me motivated to work through my ePortfolio and make it as best as I can make it on and off campus. I wish that I could change how much effort and participation I had in this class, with dicussions and the practice work assigned I wish that I had done a better job with ensuring that I was doing a balance of both to gain a better knowledge of the materials. Based on my current participation and work load I had done in this class I would give myself a B (85%) because I have always done my work (although not perfectly) but I always tried my best to correct my answers and have always put in the efforts to make sure the pages in my ePortfolio is as best as I can make it. I hope that the grade I gave myself would be the same grade the professor decides to give me, based on my efforts and participation in this class.
I thoroughly enjoyed this class! Being able to get comfortable with the people around me and with the professor to be able to face my fears and anxieties about teaching and stand in front of the class and speak is something I am proud that I did. This class has made me more excited and love the thought of teaching even more! The friendships I have also created in this class would be friends that I will have for the rest of my life and I have no doubt that all of the people in this class would be wondereful and amazing educators that will impact their students' life the way they have impacted mine.
