I am a Chilean economist with experience in economic modeling, quantitative methods, and policy evaluation, focused on understanding how economic decisions impact social welfare.
In my master’s thesis, I built a DSGE model for Chile to analyze the macroeconomic impacts of energy transition. Through a Solow decomposition, I identify how renewable energy supports TFP. Counterfactual analysis reveals that, without energy diversification, GDP, inflation, and TFP would have worsened, requiring stricter monetary policy.
I’m also researching how beliefs about poverty shape fiscal spending. Using data from the World Value Survey and the IMF, I find that countries linking poverty to injustice allocate more to social protection, while those with individualist beliefs prioritize defense spending.
