CLEA Group (Cognitive, Language, Enactivism and Affectivity)
CLEA is a brazilian network of scholars committed to investigating the interrelations between cognitive, linguistic, and affective processes from an embodied and situated perspective. CLEA fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, critical debate, and joint academic initiatives—such as co-authored publications, conferences, and workshops—while providing a vibrant forum for the discussion and development of research in progress.
REDD (Network Studies about Democracy and Disinformation)
REDD is a multidisciplinary research group dedicated to understanding the phenomenon of disinformation and the mechanisms through which it spreads and gains adherence. REDD brings together researchers from various fields to address the complex interplay of cognitive, social, political, and technological factors involved in the mass production and dissemination of disinformation. The group’s primary aim is to mobilize conceptual tools from epistemology and the cognitive sciences to analyze the dynamics of belief formation, endorsement, and large-scale sharing of false or misleading content. At the same time, REDD seeks to consolidate the efforts of researchers across different departments at UFMG and to strengthen local academic networks, with the goal of fostering dialogue with national and international research centers focused on disinformation.
