It's a welcoming community within the small town of San Rafael. I could see myself florishing in such a community as a student. There are great opportunities on campus for students that I wanted to engage with.
My sophmore year of University I applied to be part of the Campus Activity Boards where I would be part of planning the events for students. The postions I obtained was the Small Events Cordinator. I have been able to engage with the Student Life and Engagment office on campus to organize fun events for all students.
My sophmore year I joined the Peer Mentor group where I particitcated in training to focus on my metorship skills of leadership, realtionship builiding, and conflict management. My year commitent for this program was to give contructive feedback in person, zoom, or asynchron feedback, for students as they built on their digital portfolio, as a Digital Portfolio Peer Mentor.
