Mariah was contracted with Fan Empourium in 1990 and the club itself was made public the following year. By 1992 the fan club was in full swing and newsletters were sent out quarterly. Every fan would get a welcome newsletter, a biography, membership pin and two 8x10 photos. Special merchandise was developed by Joyce for fan members only and the Special relationship between Mariah and her fans were kept active by Logan's newsletters and personal hands on touch For eleven years, Fan Emporium offered Mariah Carey fans an in-depth look to who the real Mariah is; the person and not just the singer. Since the beginning Mariah herself had been contributing so much to the newsletters produced by the fan club. She often wrote extensive letters giving an update of her current issues and things that had been happening in her personal and professional life. Many of the newsletters featured a question and answer section, in which Mariah would personally answer some of her fans questions. Other newsletters featured fan letters, contests which enabled fans to personally meet Mariah backstage at her concerts, television appearances, and Special luncheons. Over the years Joyce would ask fans to send in photos they had taken with Mariah and or their personal collections. The newsletter later offered a pen pal section in which, fans could communicate with each other. In the late 90's a phone line was added for the most recent updated information. After 27 newsletters Fan Empourium came to an end in 2002.
