Kaur Chimuk is a conceptual graphic designer by profession. Currently based in Goa, India. In the last couple of years Kaur majorly working as a visual communication researcher with a special interest in conceptual graphic symbolism. Other than India, they also have a working base in Sweden where Kaur is working for the last 6 years with an international artist union known as meteor international. In recent years, we can also find Kaur’s conceptual design in UK - where they are majorly functioning as a website designer in a UK-based cultural organization known as inventory platform. In India, Kaur is associated with a few major international performance festivals as a visual communication designer especially in Mumbai and Kolkata. Kaur has academic specialization in web and graphic design, they have completed grad. From Punjab and later advance diploma from Maya Academy ( India’s pioneer graphic and 3d animation school). As a working professional, kaur has already worked with/under a few important cultural platforms in India where kaur had contributed a new sense of cutting-edge design ideas as cultural innovation - a few of them are like Indo-polish exchange program(Kochi muzaris biennale, collateral event), PSBT( poster design for the documentary project), Kolkata International Performance Art Festival. In the last couple of years, zie has shared a special interest in non-binary viewership and the participatory curatorial model. Recently, zie has started a curatorial research platform in India which is also known as - TAC or Tracing A City, where you can find most of their collective working research and initiative. As an individual practitioner, zie likes to explore the body as a political space for nonbinary action field and as well as a platform for fluid visual poetry.
