Margherita Giannoni is a Ph.D. Graduate specializing in health economics research on income-related inequalities and equity in health and health care and on measuring the health inequalities of fragile groups such as migrants.
She is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Perugia (Italy) and has held previous academic appointments as a Technical Researcher and Adjunct Professor. She has completed both a Ph.D. and a Master of Science in Health Economics and has produced several publications inclusive of recent publications on Migrant integration policies and health inequalities in Europe and the Migrant Integration Policy Index (MIPEX) for Health Care in Italy. She has undertaken various research projects as a Scientific Coordinator and holds memberships with the International Health Economics Association (IHEA), the Italian Society of Public Economics (SIEP), the Italian Health Economics Associations (AIES), and the European Health Policy Group (EHPG)

Key Responsibilities
· Coordinating and delivering research activities with a primary focus on the following research topics: equity and income-related inequalities in access to health care services in Europe and in Italy, healthcare performance measurement, migrant health inequalities, financing of healthcare systems at the national and local level, voluntary health insurance, and econometric applications to healthcare sector analysis, COVID-19 and its impact on the Italian healthcare system.
· Contributing to the execution of international research projects such as, e.g., the Migrant Integration Policy Index (MIPEX) as the country expert for Italy
· Teaching Health economics: undergraduate and graduate-level courses and Master courses for healthcare managers /doctors
· Overseeing the design and delivery of all relevant and compulsory undergraduate and postgraduate modules (currently microeconomics, health economics)
· Delivering lectures, coordinating group activities and providing student support; engaging with learners, encouraging growth, and enhancing student confidence
· Ensuring the maintenance learning material on the online learning environment site, Blackboard, and executing general administration pertaining to student records
· Setting examinations, and administering and marking all assessments including resubmissions
· Inspiring the maintenance of a safe and supportive learning environment for all levels of students
