Charcoal
Fall 2017
I created this piece for my Drawing final homework assignment. The assignment was to create a self-portrait of yourself making a unique face. My favorite part of this piece is my hair, which was something I struggled to represent with charcoal.

This series of three images were created for an assignment in my Design I class. The assignment was to research a nursery rhyme and create a three-piece image symbolizing the before, during, and after of the rhyme. It was also required to pick a color scheme and make the before image a tint and the after image a shade of the color scheme chosen. I chose the nursery rhyme The Lion and the Unicorn. I had never heard of the rhyme before, but it is about the wars between England, the lion, and Scotland, the unicorn. This was one of my first Photoshop pieces, and one of my favorite assignments I completed in the class.

Wood, Acrylic Paint, Jute Twine, Eye-Hook Screws
Spring 2018
I created this piece for an assignment in my Design II class. The assignment was to make a children's toy out of wood. I chose to make a demon pull-along toy because to me children's toys are a bit creepy. I made everything on the main body: the horns, the layered main body, and the wheels that it uses to move. I painted the piece using a crackle paint technique to make the toy appear to resemble an antique. I then attached a tail and front string using eye-hook screws.

Copper
Fall 2018
I created this piece for an assignment for my Metal Design Survey. The assignment was to create a hollow form ring that covered at least three fingers. I chose to make a covered bridge because I wanted to "bridge the gap" between my fingers. I cut the metal, formed a roof and body of the bridge, hammered a texture onto the metal, and soldered them together. I formed the two rings separately to fit my fingers and soldered them to the bottom of the bridge. After the ring was soldered together, I used a Liver of Sulfur patina to make the bridge appear weathered.

Oil Paint
Fall 2018
I created this piece for an assignment in my Painting Survey. The assignment was to paint a landscape of my choosing. I chose an image I took while traveling on a highway from Virginia to North Carolina during my spring break. I chose this image because I loved the separation of the road, the neighborhood, and the sky. I consider this to be my best piece from my painting survey.

Aquatint Print on Pressed Paper
Spring 2019
I created this piece for an assignment in my Printmaking Survey. I was given the opportunity to create an aquatint of an original design. I have always been fascinated with the woods around my house. When taking my dog out for walks at night I would always wonder if it was streetlights I saw out in the darkness, or something else. This is my favorite piece from my printmaking survey.

I created this piece for an assignment in my Illustration survey. The assignment was to create a pattern swatch that would be replicated to create a larger piece. I chose to create a pattern about owl pellets. Each of the skulls in the piece is a rodent skull. This was because I love drawing skulls and rodent skulls are common to find in owl pellets. The owl in the pattern is a Barn Owl, my favorite owl species. I designed this pattern swatch specifically to resemble wrapping paper when printed onto a larger piece.
