Mareen Bastiaans

I am a PhD candidate at Erasmus University Rotterdam and Tinbergen Institute  under the supervision of Anne Gielen  and Robert Dur. I hold a Research Master degree in Economics from Tinbergen Institute.

I am an applied microeconomist with research interests in the fields of Labor Economics, Family Economics and Health Economics. My current research focus on how public policies and external shocks affect labor market outcomes and mental health, and the spillover effects of this on the next generation.

In October 2024, I will join the European University Viadrina, Chair for Public Economics as a post-doctoral researcher (6 years). In addition, I will be affiliated with the DIW Berlin.
