My research interests are in the evolutionary history, ecology and conservation of mammals in threatened, human-modified, and fragmented landscapes. Such investigation have taking me across the globe and the taxonomic span from tiny bats to whales. Some research themes include:
I am particularly interested in how mammals use their habitats and their interactions with other species, and how to count them.
Through deep time to population genetics, I am fascinated by the complexities of evolution and biodiversity. I use both morphology and genomic methods to explore and understand biogeographic and systematic questions.
How many mouse-deer are there?: Re-evaluation of chevrotain systematics using genomics and morphology [in prep]
How can anyone engage and enjoy the splendor of biodiversity without the desire to do something to protect it?
