I have decided to pursue the career of motorsports/mechanical engineering. I was prompted to enter this career because my friends introduced me to formula one and I fell in love. That led me to want to pursue the field of engineering so I can work on the cars that make formula one possible. I decided this around a year ago when I was searching for different engineering pathways. I always wanted to be in the field of engineering but had a hard time picking one single subject, until I fell in love with formula one.
I have taken lots of math and I am currently enrolled in AP Physics, I plan on continuing into AP Physics 2 and onto calculus. I have enrolled into the engineering class in the JFCTC. I participate in Operation No Starvation which taught me the importance of helping people in need. It also taught me leadership because I am the vice president for the Operation. Its taught me to love and respect everyone no matter their situation and problems. I have toured factories that make the parts of an IndyCar. I was previously a lifeguard which taught me how to be attentive and teamwork. It also taught me patience and professionality.
My immediate actions will be to apply to colleges and possibly work with a company that uses engineering. I will not join the military because it does not have the careers that I want to pursue. I plan to attend Purdue at Indy or any other university that teaches motorsport or mechanical engineering. I will attend a 4 year college and go further to grad school to fully develop my skills and knowledge in motorsport and mechanical engineering. I do not plan to attend a trade school because I do not want to go into a trade. I would work as an apprentice to develop my skills in engineering. I will not go into the workforce immediately because I want to fully develop my skill and knowledge. My pathway of engineering might change but I plan on sticking with engineering.
It wouldn't affect my community because Formula One happens mainly in Europe. It will not affect normal people in the society, however, it will influence people inside the sport and the drivers of the cars. I could possibly discover something that could impact every car making it safer or better performance wise. I will make a positive impact and difference in the sport.
