Teaching

Opening slide from the invited lecture at Cambridge University 11/21

Through teaching in multidisciplinary courses at master's and doctoral school level, I have developed methods to stimulate students' interest and encourage their critical thinking. My main subjects are mathematical modelling in biology, dynamical systems and numerical methods. Over the years I have mentored several students for whom I have developed original projects.

Over the years I prepared lectures for several courses among which "Introduction to Systems Biology", "Quantitative Data Analysis and Modelling" and more recently on "Introduction to Modelling in Microbiology" (Allen, Mauri, Hoshyaripour). You can find here the notes for this last course, although not complete and still under revision.

Personal life

I am a travel and photography enthusiast. I am an avid reader of all kinds of books, especially science fiction, classics and Japanese literature. I like hiking, trekking and snorkeling. It may be an Italian cliché, but yes I love to cook :) and discover other cultures. I love art, classical and jazz music and (a lot) LEGO constructions! I speak Italian, English, German and French.
