Hello everyone! I am currently a PhD student in the philosophy of cognitive neuroscience at the University of Milan.Â
My academic research focuses on the concept of agency from both philosophical and psychological perspectives. Specifically, I am developing the Joint Guidance approach to joint agency, which aims to elucidate the cognitive and neural mechanisms that allow agents to coordinate and act together without resorting to constructs such as "collective intentions" or "group subjects". Within this framework, I also explore topics such as individual and collective effort, joint attention, the role of commitments, the impact of joint attention on implicit biases, and the operationalisation of agency for biological studies.
In addition to my theoretical work, I am also involved in experimental research. Using techniques such as EEG, I study the cognitive mechanisms and interplay between attention and ensemble perception.
Outside of academia, I have a strong passion for public philosophy. I have written several articles and a book on 're-enchantment', a perspective that intersects with technology, algorithmic fairness, data policy and urbanism. You can read more about this work here. I am also deeply interested in speculative philosophy, which I see as a blend of philosophy and artistic literary practice. My writing in this area covers topics such as panpsychism, optimism and desire.
