Gresham residents honored by OPBCalvin Hall Gresham Outlook - Features April 23, 2010. Gresham resident Marcia Hocker received the Jan Henderson Volunteer of the Year Award for Leadership during a special reception to honor Oregon Public Broadcasting volunteers Thursday, April 15.Hocker, a volunteer on-air host for eight years and a volunteer liaison for four years at KMHD, played a vital role in the transition of the station from Mt. Hood Community College to OPB last summer.The Jan Henderson Volunteer of the Year Award was created in 2000 to honor the memory of Jan Henderson, a volunteer at OPB for 12 years.Carl Nielsen of Portland received the Jan Henderson Volunteer of the Year Award for Service in recognition for his 15 years of volunteering at OPB.In addition, Pasqualina Bredl of Gresham was among 12 volunteers who were recognized for 20 years of service to OPB.For more information about volunteering at OPB, email volunteer@opb.org or call 503-293-1907.
