Friday March 1st– Friday March 29th 2024
Enter your name in your department specific Google tracking document (See below).
Enter a “1” in the tracking document for each day you write for at least 30 minutes. Leave days you do not write blank.
All individual completers will be recognized for their achievement in front of the BCOE.
The BCOE department that has contributed the most to the writing challenge (weighted % of total writing periods based on the size of each department) will receive the RCC March Madness trophy.
Increased scholarly productivity and all the bragging rights!
Who is eligible to participate in the challenge? Any faculty who wish to do so!
What if I write for two hours one day? Can this count for more than one day? Can I enter a 2 instead of a 1 in the tracking document? As long as you write for at least 30 minutes a day you can enter a 1 in the tracking sheet. If you write for more than 30 minutes a day this will not count extra (but good for you!)
Does data collection and analysis count? What about preparing for a conference presentation? This is truly a writing challenge. You must actually write for at least 30 minutes (can be in conjunction with your analysis).
Do I have to write M-F? Not necessarily. There are seven buffer days built into this challenge. Life happens. You can write on one of these buffer days if needed. Just keep in mind the challenge will end on March 31st.

The charts below will be populated as soon as faculty start tracking their writing periods (The first day/s of the challenge they might be blank)
This year we will also be tracking individual results. Check them week by week in the chart below. As faculty members advance, their name and department will appear in the brackets below.
