To start, I enjoyed my first March Madness week, which went very well. I started off by interviewing mental health professionals and those who work in the field. They provided me with useful information on teen and adult mental health, and how to overcome a negative event. This information allowed me to have more information on if my project would be benefiting people’s mental well-being. With my research, it seemed as though my project would help with the first step of gratitude which is recognizing a positive or negative event in your life. Later in the week, I interviewed strangers in Cooper Square and beyond. I received many in-depth answers that inspired me to work harder on my project. The week ended with me doing many interviews with mental health professionals and strangers on the street. For the second week, I worked on my website, and recording the Grace Community responses. This allowed me to create the final touches on my project.
Overall, I enjoyed March Madness, but would have enjoyed it more if I did a project that I am currently more interested in. Yet, I still found the process of interviewing those outside and within Grace to illustrate the age gap for expressing emotions. In addition, interviewing those outside of the Grace Community helped me realize that there are people who live completely different lives, which brought me some peace, and will hopefully do the same to those reviewing my website. Lastly, the procecess of interviewing different people allowed me to have empathy for everything that both those in and out of have to constantly deal with.
