Spirit Award

The Marching Mustangs have a tradition of filling the stands and enthusiastically supporting other marching bands at competitions and festivals. We believe that the spirit of marching band is made up of unity, kindness, and excellence on and off the field. The Marching Mustangs Festival Spirit Award is voted on by our festival volunteers who observe all of the bands throughout the night. Questions that our volunteers are asked to consider in casting their votes include:

• Do band members cheer for other bands and maintain a positive-energy atmosphere even when not performing?

• Do band members show a palpable sense of pride and love for the activity of marching band?

• Do band members show unity as an ensemble, ensuring all members are included?

• Do band members show kindness to volunteers and staff, as well as to band members from other schools?

• Do band members treat equipment and their environment with respect?
