We are still glowing from last year's impact report! Even though only 18% of our volunteers reported their time, you logged over 9,000 hours of service. That data made a huge impression on our commissioners and stakeholders. It proves that while you don’t get paid, your work is truly priceless!
Please take a quick moment to log your October through February hours. Whether you do it once a month or after every meeting, every entry helps us protect and grow our program.
The Goal: Let's see if we can get even more of our amazing leaders to report this year!
The How-To: Check out our simple PowerPoint guide if you need a refresher on the steps.
Double-check your 4HOnline profile! The deadline to add or drop a project is coming up. (April 30)

4-H Dog Training
Our 4-H Dog training classes will begin on Wednesday, March 4th in the Exhibit Building. First-year members should attend at 6 pm. The 7 pm class will focus on 2nd year Pre-Beginner, Beginner Novice, and Novice Obedience exercises, but ALL 2nd year and higher members are welcome to come at this time and work their dogs on basic skills such as Heeling, Figure 8, Sits, and Downs. Remember to bring your training supplies, such as leashes, collars, and lots of treats, with you to class. Parents should also bring a chair. The complete Dog Training schedule can be found on the Boulder County 4-H website under the link to the Dog Project.
Important - Dog Vaccination Requirements
ALL dogs participating in the 4-H Dog Project MUST be current on their vaccinations for Rabies, Parvo, and Distemper. Bordetella is an optional vaccine, but is strongly recommended. Now is a good time to confirm your pup’s vaccination status! In order to participate in group dog training, members are required to provide proof of current vaccination PRIOR to attending classes. You can bring a copy of your shot record to the first training class, or you can email a copy of your shot record (preferred) to Anne. For safety reasons, dogs without proof of vaccination will NOT be allowed to participate in class.
4-H State Dog Expo
Once again, the 4-H State Dog Expo will be held in the Origin Arena at the Larimer County Fairgrounds. The Expo will be held on Saturday, March 28th, from 9 am - 4 pm, and check-in will open at 8 am. The cost is $10, and you can register online through your 4HOnline account. This is a super fun, “try-it” event with your pup! The Expo is open to ALL 4-H Dog Project members in the state and will include learning opportunities in Obedience, Rally, Showmanship, and Agility! You can also learn about the new Dog Skill-a-thon competition, learn how to register with AKC, complete your Dog Inspection page in your Record Book, and learn about many other dog-related topics. Hope to see you there!

Whether you are working with a 1,000lb steer or a 2lb cavy, March is a busy month for training! To keep things simple, we have consolidated all project-specific dates into the Calendar. You can also find information on your Project webpage. Click on your animal photo to get to that project page.
How to find your project on our calendar:
The "Magic Wand" (Sidebar): On a computer, look at the left side. On a phone, tap the "double arrow" icon on the left top part of the screen. Click the eye to see a specific project and to hide everything else, then click on the eye again to go back to view all.
The "Shopping List" View: If the month view looks like a mess of dots, look at the top right corner and click on the down arrow, then click on "List." This turns the calendar into a simple list of dates that is much easier to read on a phone.
The "Secret Details": Don't just read the name of the event. Tap on the event name. A window will pop up telling you all the details for that event.
Master your frosting skills! Whether you are a beginner or looking to learn advanced techniques, join us for our March workshop. You can view all dates on our calendar.
