Marcelo Caetano received the Ph.D. degree in signal processing from UPMC Paris 6 University in 2011 under the supervision of Xavier Rodet, head of the Analysis/Synthesis group at IRCAM. Click here for further information.
Dr Caetano was a Marie Curie postdoctoral fellow with the SPL at FORTH in 2012-2013. Between 2014 and 2016 he was a postdoctoral fellow with the SMC group at INESC TEC and invited Assistant Professor at FEUP, University of Porto. Dr Caetano was a visiting researcher at the University of Malaga with the ATIC group in 2017 before going back to the SMC-INESC TEC to develop his FCT-awarded postdoctoral project. Currently, Dr. Caetano is a MSCA fellow with CIRMMT-McGill and CNRS-PRISM on a global fellowship.
Dr. Caetano’s research interests range from musical instrument sounds to music modeling, including analysis/synthesis for sound transformation and music timbre. His current projects involve computer-aided orchestration, timbre perception through morphing, and adaptive sinusoidal modeling.
Dr. Caetano has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles in international journals and conferences with more than 400 citations (h-index 12). He regularly reviews for the most prominent international conferences and journals in his field. His current collaborations include the University of Porto, University of Salamanca, and CNMAT-UC Berkeley.
