Bio

I am an Associate Professor at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a researcher at Fedea where I act as a coordinator of our labor market research program. My fields of interest include macroeconomics, labor economics and the economics of education. My current research focuses on the causal impact of dual vocational education ("FP dual") on the labor market insertion of youth benefits and the impact of monopsony on wages and job quality. At Fedea we perform policy-oriented research. Our aim is to contribute to the public debate on socio-economic policy and promote evidence-based policy-making. In recent years I worked as a consultant on labor market issues for the OECD, the European Commission, the Interamerican Development Bank and Spain’s fiscal authority AIReF.
