Transforming passive learning into an active and engaging process can significantly improve educational outcomes. In this blog post, I discuss the design and results of the game I created for a class on urban politics and policy trajectories in my “Latin American Metropolis” course, highlighting the benefits of using role-playing games as a pedagogical tool.
Students need to learn how to write research papers; we can all agree on that. However, they also need to develop skills beyond academic writing, and it's not always obvious to instructors how to foster these skills. After my first experience using podcasts as term projects, I wanted to share what I learned.
