Tom Diethe (Head of the Centre for AI, BioPharm R&D, AstraZeneca)

Tom is a Machine Learning leader with 20+ years of experience in a mix of industry in academic roles, including Amazon, Microsoft Research, the British Medical Journal Group, QinetiQ, UCL and the University of Bristol. He has specialized in healthcare applications of ML/AI, including genomics, proteomics, digital health, and physiological measurement. He is co-author of the online first book “Model-Based Machine Learning.” Tom is also an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Bristol, a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society, a member of the IEEE Signal Processing Society, and serves as an Area Chair for ECML-PKDD.

Rebecca Croasdale-Wood (Director Augmented Biologics Discovery & Design, Biologics Engineering, Oncology, AstraZeneca)

Rebecca is an innovative leader responsible for the implementation of novel and disruptive in silico technologies to increase the speed of discovery and quality of biologics therapeutics. She is an experienced antibody engineer with structural biology expertise and was co-inventor of the CrossMab technology that is now leading the way in approvals for multispecific antibody therapeutics. She has authored 17+ patents in the field of antibody engineering.

Andrew Buchanan (Principal Scientist, Oncology, AstraZeneca)

Andrew is an experienced biologics engineer, contributing to more than 20 drugs entering first-time in human clinical studies. He is a versatile critical thinker, leading innovative, global projects, and platform technologies with a current focus on augmented large molecule design. Andrew is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and with colleagues has published over 35 original manuscripts and patents.

Ehsan Hajiramenzanali (Principal Research Scientist, Genentech)

Ehsan is an AI Research Scientist at Genentech in the Foundational ML Research team. He received his Ph.D. on "Bayesian Learning with Heterogeneous Data" at Texas A&M University under supervision of Prof. Xiaoning Qian. His research lies at the intersection of machine learning and Bayesian statistics. His main area of interest is learning with heterogeneous and structured data and Bayesian interpretation, especially in computational biology. This includes topics in causal learning, relational learning, multi-domain learning, generative models, representation learning, and time-series analysis.

Dino Oglic (Head of Research, Centre for AI, Biopharmaceutical R&D, AstraZeneca)

Dino is a Senior Director in Machine Learning and AI at AstraZeneca's Center for AI in the BioPharmaceuticals R&D division. He holds a doctorate in machine learning from the University of Bonn and has gained extensive expertise through research in both academic and industry settings. His research findings have been published in leading conferences and journals in machine learning and AI, including NeurIPS, ICML, AAAI, JMLR, and TASLP. As a Program Committee member for top-tier conferences, he has received the Best/Top/Outstanding Reviewer Award seven times in the past five years (ICML and NeurIPS). His research has also been recognized with an Honorable Mention for the Best Paper Award at ICML 2019.
