The Catholic Youth Ministry Readers was established in April 2025 at St. Anthony of Padua Parish by Rev. Fr. Salvador D. Leyso, in response to the need of the youth to take a more active role in the Church. This ministry provides young people with the opportunity to serve by proclaiming the Word of God during the Holy Mass. They are scheduled every Sunday at 6:00 PM.
The ministry was formed under the supervision of Ms. Ma. Erlinda Ko-Silva, who patiently guided and trained the youth to read properly and reverently at the altar. It was also with the support and guidance of Mr. Jenno Lloyd Daria, who helped in establishing the group. The Catholic Youth Ministry Readers began its journey under the leadership of Mr. Karlos Emmanuel San Juan, the former CYM President.
Through this ministry, the youth are not only encouraged to deepen their faith, but also to grow in responsibility, service, and love for the Word of God.
The Catholic Youth Ministry Choir (CYMC) was officially established in 2017 under the supervision of Bro. Jeoffrey Biaco. Initiated by Rev. Fr. Ernesto Bendita, the choir was created to nurture the musical gifts of the youth and to give them a deeper role in the life of the Church. It was formally organized during the presidency of Charles Pelitro.
The pioneering members who laid the foundation of the ministry were Reinhurt Pope Cartagena, Jan Anthony Balasabas, and Jennifer Marie Arandia, who served as the first pianist. Alongside them, the first group of singers included Ar-ar Belocura, Edelle, Hammy Jaco, Charles Pelitro, Jenno Lloyd Daria, Richard Cadiz, Ate Tes, Kim, and Rochelle. With their dedication and commitment, the youth choir grew in both talent and faith.
From its humble beginnings, the CYMC has continued to inspire the faithful through music, transforming liturgical celebrations into heartfelt encounters of prayer and praise. Their journey stands as a testimony that the voices of the youth, when lifted to God, become a blessing to the entire community.
