# Privacy Policy — Marathi Compass

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Marathi Compass app ("the App",
"we", "us") accesses and uses, why, and the choices you have. By installing or using
the App you agree to the practices described here.
Marathi Compass is a compass and Vastu Shastra app. We have designed it to work with
the minimum data necessary. We **do not sell your personal data**, and we do not run
our own servers that store your personal information — the data described below is
processed on your device or by the third-party services listed in this policy.

## 1. Information We Access and Why
### Device sensors (no permission prompt)
The App reads your device's **accelerometer and magnetometer** to calculate the
compass heading. This sensor data is processed in real time on your device, is used
only to display the direction, and is **not stored or transmitted**.
To improve responsiveness during the optional "Boost" feature, the App may request a
**high sampling rate** for these sensors (`HIGH_SAMPLING_RATE_SENSORS`).
### Location — `ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION` / `ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION`
We use a one-time current location for two purposes:
- **Magnetic declination correction** — to convert magnetic north to true north so
the compass reading is accurate for your location.
- **Map view** — to center the satellite map in the AR / Live Compass screen.
Location is used on your device for these features. Granting location is optional; if
you decline, the compass still works (using magnetic north without declination
correction) and the map view simply will not center on you.
### Camera — `CAMERA`
The camera is used **only** for the AR / Live Compass "Camera" mode, which overlays
the compass on a live camera preview, and for capturing a screenshot of that view.
We do not record video, and the camera feed is not transmitted off the device.
Granting camera access is optional and only requested when you open camera mode.
### Storage — `WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE` (Android 9 / API 28 and below only)
On older Android versions, this permission lets the App save a compass/AR screenshot
you choose to capture to your device's gallery. On Android 10+ this permission is not
used. Saved images stay on your device.
### Internet — `INTERNET`
Required to load advertisements, fetch remote configuration, process in-app purchases,
load map tiles, and send anonymous analytics, as described below.

## 2. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy
governing the data it collects.
### Google AdMob & Mediation Partners (Advertising)
The free version of the App displays ads (banner, interstitial, rewarded, rewarded
interstitial, and app-open ads) served through **Google AdMob** and its mediation
partners: **Meta Audience Network (Facebook), Unity Ads, InMobi, and AppLovin**.
These networks may collect and use device identifiers (such as the **Advertising ID**),
coarse/IP-based location, and ad-interaction data to serve and measure ads, including
personalized advertising where permitted.

You can limit ad personalization by resetting or deleting your Advertising ID in your
device's Google settings. Purchasing premium (see below) removes ads entirely.
### Google Firebase (Analytics & Remote Config)
We use **Firebase Analytics** to understand, in aggregate and anonymously, how the App
is used — for example which screens and buttons are opened, ad outcomes, and purchase
funnel steps. This helps us improve the App. We use **Firebase Remote Config** to
adjust app behavior and optional promotional content without an update.

### Google Play Billing (In-App Purchases)
The App offers one in-app purchase, an annual **ad-free ("premium")** upgrade. Payments
are processed entirely by **Google Play Billing**; we never receive or store your
payment-card details. Your purchase status is stored locally on your device so the App

### Google Maps
The AR / Live Compass map tab uses the **Google Maps** SDK to display a satellite map.

## 3. Data Stored on Your Device
The App stores a small amount of preference data locally (using Android
SharedPreferences), such as:
- your premium / ad-free status,
- temporary "Boost" ad-free expiry time,
- your selected compass design and other settings.
This data stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall the App.

## 4. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal
information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please
contact us so we can address it.

## 5. Your Choices
- **Permissions:** You may grant or deny camera and location access at any time in your
device's app settings. The core compass works without them.
- **Advertising ID:** Reset or delete it in your device's privacy settings to limit ad
personalization.
- **Remove ads:** Purchase the premium ad-free upgrade.
- **Delete data:** Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored preferences.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected
by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, within the App or its
