It is a condition of play that all players register at the counter and understand the Terms and Conditions displayed around the courts.
The tournament will be conducted in accordance with the Laws of Badminton adopted by the Badminton World Federation (Reference: Simplified Rules (2015) & Rules links).
The organisers reserves the right to amend or add to these conditions as may be necessary and to cancel any event for which there are insufficient entries.
The organisers reserves the right to disqualify from any or all events, any player infringing these Conditions of Play or in any way interfering with the conduct of the Tournament.
Players must report to the organisers at least 15 minutes prior to the indicated starting time of their match and must play as directed or forfeit the match.
Players not ready to play 5 minutes after a match has been called will be defaulted.
All scoring will be based on the rally points system.
All matches will be a single game of 31 points except Semi-Finals and Finals.
All Semi-Finals and Finals will be a best of 3 games of 21 points.
For a single game matches of 31 points players must switch sides when one of the scores reach 15 points.
For best of 3 games matches players must switch sides in the 2nd games and when the score reaches 11 points in the 3rd game.
Warm up time will be limited to (3) minutes per match.
Players MUST act as umpire or line judge when called upon to do so. Failure to comply with this condition renders the player liable to disqualification.
Local conditions: It will be a fault if, in play, the shuttle hits the roof or other part of the hall structure.
ALL decisions of the Referee (or the responsible official at the time) are FINAL.
Players must be attired in correct clothing (i.e. clothing made for badminton, tennis or squash). Beach wear, clothing designed and made for other sports is NOT acceptable. Players presenting for play not correctly attired may be disqualified.
If the Tournament is interrupted for any reason (power failure etc.) the organisers reserves the right to postpone any, or all events until such time or date they consider suitable, or to abandon matches or events. MAQ will not be liable for any financial or other loss occurred due to such cancellation or changes.
Refunds of entry fees are at the sole discretion of the organisers. NO refunds will be made after the draw has been published, except where the Tournament or event is abandoned and then, only at the discretion of the organisers.
Players are expected to have adequate medical cover prior to enter in to the competition. MAQ will not be liable for any personal injuries during the event.
