It's how I think. Just tell yourself, you can achieve something each day: move the needle on small things. They add up to larger achievements. Don't think of the large, they are too far off.
Concentrate on the small, immediately available, immediately achievable micro milestones. Find an idea, a theme, like a framing to a task. It can be- create an awesome modern, minimalist interior style to live in. Imagine it- it has dark colours, few elements and with polished chrome or brass. Or create a thought theme- this has to do with direction of career, character, mind or body.
I like to call them micro steps. Like 12 sit ups x 3. Or arranging a room so it is so minimalist, with dark brown and grey furnishings, against white walls and sharp contours of a dark or wooden table, it looks like an IKEA set.
Setting up a gaming station and digital lights in the background, on skateboards - one pink, one blue, one brown, set fast to the wall, behind. Amazing! All set! For the next advancement. This time, my work with digital photo editing, video editing, coding.
Whatever gig is on the ascendant. Often I like to just hang out at coffee shops and sit and do my work there. Of course with coffee and blueberry muffins. Or tapas and hot chilli snacks. Food and surroundings set the tone of the day, I set my intent. It flows.
I don't ascribe to goal setting. They can become behemoths. I take it in micro steps, day by day. And allow myself to change these out as and when I please. Affording myself a flexibility that ensures no goals take the upper hand. I determine the path. To success. One that is constructed every day. Success is the small things- created, completed. Building up to a higher plan.
