About Us

Taylor Atkinson is a skilled carpenter and the proud owner of Maple Leaf Carpentry. Born and raised in Somers, CT, Taylor has always had a passion for woodworking and building things with his hands. While honing his carpentry skills, Taylor attended Vermont Technical College, a part of the Vermont State University system, where he gained extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in the trade, earning a Bachelor of Science in Construction Practices and Management.

After completing his education, and a short stint as a commercial project manager, Taylor returned to his hometown to start his own business, founding Maple Leaf Carpentry in 2016. With a mission to provide high-quality carpentry services to residential and commercial clients in Somers and the surrounding areas, his focus on detail and commitment to customer satisfaction has built a loyal following of satisfied clients who appreciate his craftsmanship and professionalism.

Taylor is skilled within a wide range of carpentry services, including custom woodworking, trim work, window & door replacement, siding, deck building, and more. He takes pride in delivering personalized service and tailoring his work to meet the unique needs and preferences of each client. Taylor stays up-to-date with the latest trends, codes, and techniques in the industry, ensuring that his clients receive the best possible service and results.

Taylor prides his business as being a part of, as well as, an extension of himself and his family. 

When Taylor's not working, he enjoys spending time outdoors, camping, ATVing with brother and dad, and most of all, spending time with his daughter and wife. Taylor is an active member of the Somers community and takes pride in his town, its local businesses and people.
