A Year of Success and Planning Forward
Hello and Welcome to MAPC's Subregional Program!
As the Regional Planning Agency for 101 communities in the Greater Boston Metro Region, we understand that relationships are fundamental to our work. The eight subregions each represent a geographic group of the 101 communities and are staffed by one to two MAPC team members, known as Subregional Coordinators. The aim of the subregional program is to:
Strengthen relationships with municipal staff, leaders and community partners in member municipalities;
Foster pathways for communication and resource sharing from MAPC to member municipalities and vice versa;
Offer collaborative peer support and identify resources to navigate municipal challenges experienced on the local and regional level; and
Develop innovative ideas through convening members and/or piloting projects across the subregions.
Across each of these goals, the program strives to center equity and the priorities raised by participating members.
It is our hope that this program offers a landing space for our municipal colleagues and partners – to connect, to troubleshoot challenges, to inspire each other. In this report we share some of the highlights from our past year together and offer a look into our work this current year. We invite you to join us!
If you are interested in getting involved in your own subregion, we encourage you to reach out to us at MAPC. You can email me at: sparodi@mapc.org.
Thank you,
