We are a small semi-rural school 7kms south of Taumarunui, with 70% Maori and 30% European students. We are privileged to have children from all over the Taumarunui District attend our school.
We believe that education is vitally important for our students to know and find their place in the world.
Therefore, our focus is on providing our students with a 21st Century curriculum which engages them in an exploration of powerful ideas and big questions:
Who am I and what shapes who I am?
What are my rights and responsibilities and how do I shape the world around me?
Where am I going and what do I need to get there?
How do I communicate effectively with the world?
We want our students to be responsibility takers, knowledge creators, opportunity makers and world shakers.
We pride ourselves at Manunui School on our strong focus on reading, writing and maths, but also on providing a positive balance between academic, physical, social and cultural opportunities.
Our four school values of Knowledge, Ownership, Respect and Unity (KORU Values) underpin all that we do here at our school. We endeavour to instill these values into our students so that they can use them, not only during their time while at our school, but into their future opportunities and experiences, setting them up for a lifetime of high expectations for themselves and others.
We want our school families to be assured that we have a genuine interest in their child’s wellbeing and educational success.
