Manuel E. Lago
Hello!
I am a PhD candidate in Economics at the University College of Dublin. My general research areas are Behavioural Economics, Gender Economics and Experimental Economics.
My research combines microeconometric analysis and experimental techniques in the area of social norms. I pay special attention to the optimal design of interventions to shift harmful gender norms in the short run, aiming to reduce the gender gap in the workplace.
I hold a BA in Economics from the University of Santiago de Compostela, a MSc in Economics from the Barcelona School of Economics and a MLitt in Economics from the University College of Dublin.
I am funded by the Irish Research Council Scholarship and I have been recently awarded with the Denis Conniffe Prize for the best paper by a young economist at the Irish Economic Asocciation Conference 2023.
Take a look at my job market paper titled "#MeToo...or not? Do salient shocks affect gender social norms?" (single-authored, available here)
I will be on the 2024/2025 Econ Job Market.
