Manuel E. Lago

Hello!

I am a PhD candidate in Economics at the University College of Dublin. My general research areas are Behavioural Economics, Gender Economics and Experimental Economics.

My research combines microeconometric analysis and experimental techniques in the area of gender social norms. I pay special attention to the optimal design of interventions to shift gender social norms in the short run, aiming to reduce the gender gap in the workplace.

I hold a BA in Economics from the University of Santiago de Compostela, a MSc  in Economics from the Barcelona School of Economics and a MLitt in Economics from the University College of Dublin.

I am funded by the Irish Research Council Scholarship and I have been recently awarded with the Denis Conniffe Prize for the best paper by a young economist at the Irish Economic Asocciation Conference 2023.

Take a look at my latest paper titled "On the effects of intergovernmental grants: A Survey " published in the International Tax and Public Finance journal. You can find it here.
