Create a valid 2,300 point list of Kings of War using the Mantic Companion.
There is an award for the best painted War Engine, so while not a requirement, you are encouraged to have one in your army. "Siege" is in the tournament name, afterall.
We are using the latest rules and FAQs from Mantic as of January 3, 2027. If there is any discrepancy, the Mantic Companion is the trusted source of truth... unless Josh Lafoon says otherwise.
Submit your List to The Mantic Companion by January 3, 2027.
Pay $60 for the Event via Paypal to TBD by January 3, 2027.
If you cannot pay beforehand, Josh Lafoon is willing to accept payment in person on the day of the event.
Book your Hotel stay (if you are staying with us), using the hotel block pricing .
Plan your trip, pack your bags, and bring your best handshake.
Your army, fully painted with at least 3 colors on it.
We do allow non-Mantic models, but certain competitions may require Mantic Models be present or 90% of the unit/army.
For the Best Painted competition, we recommend having a display board for your army.
Dice, tokens, measuring devices, and all other things you need to play the game.
5 copies of your list that you can hand to your opponent in each game.
(optional) A chess clock if you would like you or your opponent to play using one. One is not required, but we know it makes for a better game experience for some if one is present.
(optional) Any small, light games or party games you might want to play in the hotel lobby after a hard day of dice-rolling. Flip 7, Codenames, Dice Strike, etc., are known staples and will probably be on-hand.
Some cash or a not-so-maxed-out credit card to buy dinner.
The Mantic Community is one of the best gaming communities and it is because the players are just awesome to one another. We ask that you continue this tradition and be a kind and generous opponent to the person on the other side of the table to you.
This is a 5-game, 2-day tournament. The player with the most tournament points at the end of the last game wins the tournament. This tournament has a special feature in it. Each player will be assigned a side of the combat (East or West) before the start of the tournament.
In round 1, East players will only play West players.
In rounds 2, 3, and 4, players will play the people closest to them in Tournament Point scoring.
At the end of Round 4, the judges will tally up the TPs for the West and the East. Players will then be given special instructions and models or terrain kits for the final round.
In round 5, East players will play only West players. Players will be paired as close as possible in TPs. Players may play a player they previously played in the tournament in this round.
The tournament will be run through the Mantic Companion application. In each game, players earn Tournament points (TPs) in each game.
Final scoring is still being determined. We will not be using BlackJack scoring. Sorry, gamblers.
At the end of each game, one player must enter their scores in the Mantic Companion.
Each round includes time to deploy, play, and yell at your dice. We ask that you be mindful of the time and respectful of the judges that are keeping things on track.
Arrive at your table on time.
If one player requests that a chess clock be used, allow each player 75 minutes of time.
If a judge calls "time" or a player runs out of time on a chess clock, player(s) must immediately put their dice down, even if they are in the middle of a roll. Only by the generosity of their opponent, may a player finish a roll. Judges rulings are final, however.
At the end of your game, report your scores using the provided method.
Players are encouraged to be kind and genrous opponents to one another and treat the other person how they would want to be treated. In the spirit of that, players should work together to see if an intended charge, shot, or other action is feasable whenever possible. If you need help or have a rules dispute, call one of the Judges over. A judge will give a final ruling based on the Mantic Companion, latest FAQs, etc. If a Judge cannot find an exact wording for the particular rule in question, a roll-off may be used.
This event is being run by volunteers, and we believe it is important to be as transparent as possible regarding costs, prices and prizes.
The room costs about $300 a day to rent. For 2 days, that is $600.
The catering for Saturday lunch is estimated to cost about $30 per person (we're still working on that).
There are a few moving parts that the team is still working on for this event. If you would like to help out with any of this work, feel free to reach out.
