Looking for a simple way to give back to our community here in the valley?

Our Spring Swap Meet is a chance for families to share gently used items, reduce waste, and take care of each other — all while students lead the planning and organization. Instead of throwing things away or sending them out of our community, we’re keeping items right here where they can be used again.

How is this going to work? 

Bring a  box, take a box.  

• Please do your best to organize items by category. Categories can include (but are not limited to): ages/sizes, sports equipment, kitchen supplies, shoes, etc. 

• Upon arrival, student volunteers will help place items in categorized piles. 

• After drop off, please fill your box with items that have been donated. 

***To keep this event free and sustainable, we need your help minimizing leftovers. Please aim to take as much as you bring, as we have very limited capacity to transport and dispose of remaining items after the event.***

Frequently Asked Questions

• Can I just donate items without taking? Of course! Although, please keep in mind, we do have limited resources to haul away leftovers. If you do wish to only donate, please keep the amount reasonable (ex: one bag, or one box)

• What if I don't have anything to donate? Can I still come? Absolutely! This is a community service event. If you are in need of items, but do not have anything to donate, please come see one of our adult volunteers at the welcome table. We want to make sure everyone leaves with what they need. 

• What happens to the items leftover at the end of the day? Anything that is left over, will be taken by volunteers to local donation centers. 

• Do things cost money? Nope! This is a true swap meet. We trust there will be people willing to donate, and people that will take only what they need. 

• Can I donate before the event? No. To keep things simple, we ask that you bring items the day of, as we do not have a place to store donations. 

• Who is in charge of this event? The Manson 5th grade students have been organizing the marketing, logistics, and sorting portions of this event with mentorship from HS leaders and teachers. Please be patient with our student volunteers, as they learn to manage a big event.
