There will be a timer. When you see a yellow card, you have 30 seconds remaining. When you see the red card, your time is up.
We will draw numbers to create groups of candidates. This will also be the order of the rotation for each group.
We will rotate who begins and ends each round of questions to provide equity for each candidate.
Feel free to bring your signs and or any fliers/info cards you may have and wish to share.
Forum Format
Opening statements by each candidate. Please state your name, reason for running, and what distinguishes you as the best candidate for your position. You will have 1.5 minute to answer.
Questions will be drawn. You will have 45 secs to 1 minute to answer (will be informed prior to the question). Each candidate will answer the same question (School Board will answer School Board. City Council will answer City Council). The next question, a different person will start. When we have a large number of candidates, we will break into 2 groups. Each person in a group will answer the same question; however, the 2 different groups will not answer the same question. This helps avoid repetitive answers when such a large group is present.
At the conclusion of the Q&A, you will have 1-2 minute to wrap up why you should be the candidate of choice.
