Before jumping into politics, Manres had a long and fulfilling career in the social work field. Serving as a Foster Care Specialist for the majority of that time, Manres worked directly with foster families and youth to ensure their success and helped to meet the many needs involved with foster care. This serving-focused career caused Manres to dedicate his life to helping those around him in whatever way he could. In foster care, that sometimes meant taking a foster youth to a doctor appointment if a family lacked transportation, and other times it meant advocating for a child's best interests in a court room. All along, Manres' goal was to use his God-given abilities in service towards others.
That goal was also what drew him to the political arena. After a long and illustrious career in foster care, Manres felt called to take his gift for service towards others to a larger audience, to make an even greater impact in the lives of those around him. And what better way to do that than by representing the American people in our government? Stepping into this newfound political role, Manres was appointed for two terms to a list seat in the House of Representatives, giving him a chance to "get his feet wet" in politics and the operations of the House. While in his list seat roles, Manres consistently fought for conservative ideals and stood up for the protection of the family- an issue very near to his heart. These two initial terms would become the springboard for his desire to represent the people of his home community and state, in the district of LN-4.
Today, Manres is campaigning for your vote to capture the LN-4 seat in the House from the Socialists. With his goal of service to others at the forefront of his mind now more than ever before, Manres is running on a platform of traditional family values, efficiency in government, and transparent representation. With the full force of the Lincoln GOP behind him, Manres looks to fight for all the people of Lincoln and make the Great Lakes great again.
