I am an Assistant Professor at Indian IIT Kanpur. I obtained my PhD from the Paris School of Economics (PSE) and École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (ENPC), and had a short postdoctoral stint at the Irving Institute, Dartmouth College. My research is focused on environmental and energy policy design in developing countries, where I use tools from Theory and Econometrics, and my CV can be accessed here.
My doctoral research and job market paper focussed on large-scale procurement of electricity production capacity from unconventional sources. I use India as my leading example, where these auctions (a non-trivial variant of treasury auctions) have helped create 140GW of capacity, the fourth largest globally. Using structural methods and auction theory, my paper demonstrates that simple adjustments to the allocation rules in these complex auctions can reduce inefficiency and improve the auctioneer's payoff.
In addition to energy economics, I enjoy exploring microeconomic theory and political economy. When not researching, I like to cook and occasionally go on hikes. I have conversational proficiency in French, and native proficiency in English and Hindi.
