Manoj joined the AME at OU in January 2026 as an assistant professor. Previously, he was a Sr. Postdoc (2021-2025) in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan. Additionally, he served as a DOE-BES Early Career Network Representative from 2023-2025. For his outstanding contributions and performance, he was selected for the University of Michigan's Outstanding Postdoctoral Fellow Award (2024). Previously, he worked as a Senior Research Fellow (2019-2021) in the Department of Metallurgical Engineering & Materials Science (Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, India). Manoj completed a Ph.D. at IIT Bombay (2013-2019), highlighting the importance of interlayers for stress management and their influence on the electro-chemo-mechanical stability of battery electrodes using operando techniques (viz., stress monitoring and XRD). His thesis was selected for IIT Bombay's prestigious Excellence in PhD Research Award (2020). Manoj is an active reviewer for several journals, including Energy Environ. Sci., ACS Ener. Lett., J. Power Sources, Inorg. Chem., ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces, ACS Appl. Energy Mater., Carbon, etc.
