Manohar is an ambitious young researcher craving to understand physics in a wide range of problems of applied fluid dynamics, particularly in the areas of Turbulence, Astrophysics, and Climate Science.

Since his childhood, Manohar has admired numerous scientists, which induced interest towards scientific research in him at an early stage. He has used every opportunity he had to steer himself in scientific research -- from the Summer Research Fellowship in Bachelor's to full-time doctoral researcher. He is particularly interested in the field of Turbulence (Fluid Mechanics). While the breadth and depth of Fluid Mechanics range from Nanofluidics to Planetary flows and Astrophysics, he is particularly interested in the latter.

The work done by him during his Master's has been pivotal in giving solid foundation, understanding and experience in fluid dynamics, turbulence, instabilities, computational fluid dynamics, and numerical methods. Besides, the conventional problems in turbulent fluid dynamics, Manohar is keen to work in the fields of Atmospheric and Oceanic Science (AOS) and Astrophysical Fluid Dynamics (AFD).

The choice of each field has different reasons. The primary motivation to work in the field of AOS is due to it's contemporary criticality. Earth's climate system is currently going through a significant and rapid changes due to numerous reasons, and every species on Earth are feeling the adverse effect. To understand and predict the impact of changing conditions beforehand and for more accurate predictions of weather and climatic influences, we must study thoroughly and understand the Earth's climate system. This has primarily motivated him towards the field. Besides the phenomena of large-scale oceanic and atmospheric circulations, the strong inter-dependency between several system components is quite exciting to study and work on. Further, the knowledge can be extended to study climate of extra-terrestrial planets. The field of Astrophysics is, however, more of an emotional choice. Since his childhood, Manohar had a great interest in Astrophysics. He is keen to study astrophysics through the lens of Fluid Dynamics and Turbulence. On a broad scale, the universe is an infinite playground where fluids undergo various dynamics under the influence of several forces. Both these fields have their beauty in their complexities. Manohar often compares these fields (and his research) to a culinary dish that brings several ingredients together to make a wonderful recipe.

Manohar is enthusiastic about exploring and studying numerous problems in the areas mentioned so far and is open to collaborations. He is very keen to work in a team and contribute his share of knowledge to scientific progress. (Please see 'Collaborators' page for further information)
