The images here capture moments from a group workshop I facilitated with adolescents on body image — its role in shaping self-perception and its influence during the teenage years. Sessions combined psychoeducation with interactive, reflective activities designed to help participants recognize media and social influences on body image, challenge unhelpful comparisons, and build a more compassionate relationship with themselves.
My process began with understanding the group's age range and existing concerns, then structuring sessions around discussion, guided reflection, and creative exercises rather than lecture-style delivery — since this topic lands better when participants engage actively rather than just listen. Each session built on the last, moving from awareness to practical coping strategies.
Along the way, I developed a set of workshop materials: discussion prompts to open conversation safely, a media literacy worksheet to help participants critically evaluate images they see online, and reflective self-compassion exercises participants could take home and continue using.
