Transportation to Waterloo

If flying, you should book your flight to arrive at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) or the Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF).

Airport Transportation:

The trip from Pearson to Waterloo is approximately 1 hour. Convenient transportation options include:

• Lyft 

• Uber

• Waterloo Taxi - advance reservation required

• Airways Transit shuttle service - advance reservation recommended

• City Cabs local taxi service - advance reservation required. 

• GO Transit bus and/or commuter train service - options will vary depending on your arrival date and time (2+ hour travel time). The Kitchener-Waterloo GO Train line does not run on weekends. 

• FlixBus - a recent arrival to the region, FlixBus offers direct transportation between Toronto Pearson and downtown Kitchener.

Car rental 

Upon arrival at any of the terminals at Pearson International Airport there are a number of car rental agencies to choose from. Their booths are located on the Arrivals level. The costs of a car rental depends on the type of vehicle you would like and the length of the stay. 

Local Transportation:

Once in the Kitchener-Waterloo, Grand River Transit (GRT) offers reliable public transportation with the University of Waterloo Station serving as an important hub in their network. In particular, the ION light rail train provides quick access to campus from Downtown Kitchener, Uptown Waterloo, and Conestoga Mall (north of campus).

Parking

The IQC website states that "The closest parking can be found in Lot D, Lot M, Lot H."  The location of these lots can be found on this campus map.

The Sustainable Transportation Lots and Rates say that the rates for these lots are:
- Lot M: $8.30 per day  
- Lot D: $3.10 per hour (max $21.75)*  
- Lot H: $3.10 per hour (max $14.50)* Available after 6:00 p.m.
* After 6:00 p.m. an additional cost of $7.25 will be added.
