This pedicure is the ultimate in luxury. Your lower legs and feet are exfoliated and lightly massaged with hot stones, then treated to a warm paraffin wrap to enhance the benefits of the conditioning products. A polish application or buffing along with a complimentary glass of wine or champagne conclude this service.

Focusing on both the legs and the feet, this therapeutic pedicure addresses tired, aching muscles to relax and renew you for your next journey. Begin with a warm foot soak in your choice of the following fragrances: Mandarin, Oolong, or Earth. Sip on a complimentary beer or glass of wine while feet are perfectly groomed before enjoying an invigorating massage and a warm cocooning mask for your legs and feet. A polish is then applied to complete the hydrating and balancing treatment.

I was wondering how safe it is to get a manicure or pedicure post transplant. I'm concerned if I get nicked with scissors it will bleed and I may be open to infection. I believe the spa I go to is very sterile but how can I be 100% sure. Has anyone had problems with this? Is it wise to continue?

So until a month ago I would have said, "go for it" however one of my best friends has been hospitalized twice in the past month from an infection the docs think came from a pedicure. No more for me I'm out! Pretty harsh I know but it's been so rough on her and her family.

@gaylea1 I think it depends a lot on how clean the manicure/pedicure places are kept. I totally trust my nail tech. She is germ phobic herself and is pretty fanatical about everything. I have never had a problem with her and I have been going to her for a number of years. I believe most of the better places are good about this. I would not be comfortable with the less expensive ones. To me, it's worth the extra money.

I asked how much for a pedicure 70 TL Sounded good so I sat down She said it would take 10 minutes. Not very long. I thought. When she was doing my nails, she kept talking about Shellac and Keratin in her pigeon English and how good they were. I just smiled as the English do! After cleansing and manicuring my nails, she asked me to choose a colour.

When I came to pay, she asked me for 640TL!! I objected but my partner (who hadn't been in the salon until it was time to pay ) handed over 600TL which she very quickly took. I was furious but got nowhere so I related what had happened to the receptionist at the Ena Boutique Hotel where we were staying. She immediately went with us to the salon and asked us to stay out of sight. She went in and asked for a shellac nail manicure and was quoted 250TL! She then called us in The owner went white. She had been rumbled It took this lovely young lady at least 30 minutes to get the thieving woman to pay back half of what we had paid - 300TL If we hadn't been with the receptionist from the hotel who fought our case in Turkish, we would have spent over 72 pounds! I cannot tell you how grateful I was. AT NO POINT DID I ASK FOR A SHELLAC NAIL POLISH OR KERATIN POLISH BUT WAS GIVEN ONE AND THEN ASKED TO PAY 350TL MORE THAN WHAT WAS QUOTED TO THE HOTEL RECEPTIONIST BEWARE OF THESE ROGUES!
