Mangatangi Marae is located near Mangatangi, off State Highway 2 on Mangatangi Road. The primary hapuu are Ngaati Tamaoho of Tainui.

The wharenui is Marae Kirikiri, the wharekai is Kirihaehae and the guest shelter is Tamaoho. Mangatangi connects to the maunga Maungaroa and Taupiri and the awa Mangatangi and Waikato.
