The Executive Board
Chair - Tania Forrest
Tania has been the Executive Board chair for 2015, 2016 and 2017. Tania is also a founding member of Mana Tiaki and her two girls Jasmine and Lia are past performing members of the group. Tania has given long service to Mana Tiaki in a voluntary capacity and is committed to the kaupapa.
Treasurer - Dennis Sharman
Dennis is a founding member of Mana Tiaki and has covered a number of roles on the Executive Board. He is currently the Treasurer for the organisation and oversees our legislative requirements as an incorporated society. Dennis has a strong understanding of governance matters and good community connections. Dennis has four children who continue to be outstanding role models for young Maori - his three youngest are past performers for Mana Tiaki.
Secretary - Patrick Hape
Patrick has been the secretary for Mana Tiaki since 2015. He has done an outstanding job in this role and Mana Tiaki values the knowledge and skill he brings to the Executive Board. Patrick is a Panekiretanga graduate - a Te Reo academy of the country's most fluent speakers. Patrick has been an MC for Kapo Kapo and also our IT technician !
Lydia has been on the Mana Tiaki board since 2012. Lydia continues to give amazing service to Mana Tiaki and is the 'face' of our Nga Mokopuna roopu. She is frontline, 'on the floor' with Kapa Haka on Thursdays as well fulfilling an important role in governance with the organisation. She is a very valued member of our whanau.
Hinetai has been a long serving member of Mana Tiaki, taking a leadership role in the costuming of our tamariki and rangatahi. She has given countless voluntary hours to the organisation and we value her commitment. Hinetai has had seasons of being on and off the board - she is currently on the Executive Board for the second consecutive year in 2017.
Kaiwhakahaere - Karen Hill
As the kaiwhakahaere, Karen is on every Executive Board each year. She reports to the board on the operations of the organisation and is overall responsible for the running of the group. Whaea Karen is also the producer of the Kapo Kapo festivals.
