I have been teaching in some capacity since I was 18, and it remains one of the most genuinely satisfying parts of my work.
At Tufts, I started as a teaching assistant for Statistics for Quantitative Economics and Urban Economics. For two years, I designed and taught a four-part Stata course at the Fletcher School for an audience of diplomats and law students, translating technical econometrics to a non-technical audience.
Most recently, I taught EC 35: Economic Development as the sole instructor. This was a semester-long elective for junior and senior undergraduates focused on understanding global poverty. Students rated me 4.20/5.00, above the department average of 3.89:
"My favorite economics instructor and class so far. I would absolutely take another class with her in the future."
"It never felt like any question was a bad question to have."
"Manali was super kind and super welcoming. My favorite economics instructor so far. She broke concepts down to easy-to-understand levels without over-complicating any topics"
