Both main and mizzen sails on the Prairie Mermaid are the unique Wharram designed gaff wingsails, supplied by Wharram's sail maker, Jeckells. The main sail has two reefing points, and the mizzzen one. In addition to these stock sails, there is an asymmetrical spinnaker, complete with launching sock, sewn from a Sail-Rite kit and designed specifically for the Mana 24. There is a mizzen staysail, also sewn from a SailRite kit and designed for the Mana. Both the SailRite kits are wonderful additions for light to modest wind conditions. All sails have been stored under cover when not in use and are in very good condition.
