Mr. LaRue has been Director of Bands for 2 years. He begins his career at Mammoth Spring School District with much excitement and drive. Blake is an alumnus of Rector High School, graduating in 2017. His post-secondary work moved to Arkansas State University where he graduated with a Bachelors of Music Education in the fall of 2022.
Blake was instructed in Tuba under Dr. John Edward Owen from 2015-2022 and has performed under the direction of Doctors Timothy Oliver, Sarah Labovitz, Steven Riley, Neale Bartee, Ed Owen, and also his high school band director Daniel Van Aalsburg. He has recorded with the Arkansas State University Wind Ensemble, the Delta Symphony Orchestra, Delta Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the A-State Novus Brass quintet of which he was a member from 2020-2022.
His professional memberships include being a member of the International Tuba & Euphonium Association since 2021 as well as currently being the Principal Tuba for the Delta Symphony Orchestra. Being in these organizations, Mr. LaRue has had the opportunity to play along side musicians such as Limmie Pulliam, Gareth Johnson, Kristin Leitterman, as well as country music star & Mammoth Spring Native Ashley McBryde.
Blake LaRue actively lives in Mammoth Spring and in his spare time loves playing video games, writing music, exploring the art of cooking, & and taking care of his dog Lenny.
