Resource: "Promoting SEL at Home" is a series of developmentally appropriate social and emotional learning (SEL) resources for parents, families, and caregivers to use at home. Digital Citizenship and Safety

Google’s Be Internet Awesome curriculum teaches children grades 3-6 the fundamentals of digital citizenship and safety so they can explore the online world with confidence. Through lessons and activities in the downloadable curriculum, which can be supplemented by interactive slideshows, children are taught to Be Internet…

· Smart (sharing personal information with care)

· Alert (being aware that people and situations online aren’t always as they seem)

· Strong (safeguarding valuable and personal information)

· Kind (disempowering cyberbullying behavior)

· Brave (talking to a trusted adult about anything questionable they come across online).

The Games

In addition to learning these online safety skills, students are then also able to enter the virtual world of Interland, an online adventure that puts the key lessons of digital safety into hands-on practice with four challenging games.
