New PLOs Under Semesters

Our understanding is that after the conversion to the semester system, the student learning outcomes (SLOs) will be separated into categories based on the university context in which students are to achieve these learning outcomes. Thus, there will be institutional learning outcomes (ILOs), general education learning outcomes (GELOs), program learning outcomes (PLOs), and course learning outcomes (CLOs). These are all types of student learning outcomes. For the MA program under the semester system, we outline the proposed program learning outcomes below. We also provide a map that ties these PLOs to specific student experiences throughout the MA program . Those mapped to courses will serve as umbrella learning outcomes under which more specific CLOs will exist. These CLOs will be stated and described further under the "Course Descriptions" page of this site.
